ARGILEUM – the House of Pottery

In the heart of St Jean de Fos, one finds Elie Sabadel’s workshop, well preserved since the 19th century.

The workshop was transformed into Argileum- the Pottery’s home in July 2011.

The scenography and museography use the latest technology respecting the authenticity of the site.

The museographer uses the latest technologies in an authentic workshop.

The result is a unique and playful experience of pottery-making, the skills of the trade and the ceramic history.

Esthetically and contemporary designed, we invite you to an unforgettable visit.

Argileum is open since july 2011 and belongs to the Communauté de Communes Vallée de l’Hérault.

Its goals are educating and valorizing the Art of the ceramic.
